Last night Mike and I went to wine and food class over at Cooks' Wares Cooking Class. The Chef who taught it was Chris Cavender. Apparently he has a store in Bellbrook: Cuvee. I highly recommend taking the class. Mike and I intend on visiting the store as well as attending his Wine and Food 201 in the winter (at least I want to take it anyway).
I may post my notes later...

Yeah... that last question was mine nearly word for word:

Third day of Flash conference. I have seen some pretty amazing stuff! I will post my notes about the conference once I write them up. I've seen good, I've seen bad. I've heard some extremely inspiring people who reminded me that I have not been using my extra curricular time to do the things I really love (which include playing with Flash... yes playing) and that not taking the time to enjoy those things can be a terrible thing for creativity and work as a whole. It's an interresting phillosophical point. I heard one talk by a guy named Chris Orwig today and he said something that really rang true. To paraphrase, "why is the Dead Sea called the Dead sea? What about it really makes it dead? The fact that it has no outlet." Now me, I'm thinking the whole time "Well, it's to salty..." But both answers make sense and both apply to me. I do have an extraordinary lack of creative output compared to myself about three years ago (and I'm a lot saltier too as a result). That's a bit revelation -- I'll have to do something about that. Hopefully, I will and you'll see some of the results on this site at some point.
Additionally, I looked over at the person I was sitting next to today in my last lecture only to discover that I was sitting next to a "friend" from high school (we hung out with the same people but at different times). It was quite humorous. A room that size and she decides to sit next to me. Of course, we rehashed and did a lot of "do you know what happened to so-and-so?" stuff (and certain people came up that she didn't know I had a connection to, or didn't remember I had a connection to that I would have rather not talked about but freely let my tongue wag because I was in a rather cruddy mood and needed an outlet -- don't ever put yourself in the position to be my outlet because I will talk your ear off about stuff that isn't important to you and in the grand scheme of things isn't important to the world, but happens to be the most important thing ever at that moment to me). Yes, I'm selfish. But who isn't who has a "blog" about nothing?
Anyway, off to bed now. I hope I wake up in time for the first talk tomorrow: "Accessible Video with Macromedia Flash"... it's like one of the main reasons I'm going.
Also, learned another important thing: when attending a geeky convention, don't ever expect to make it to the bar to redeem your drink ticket (at least for the first hour) and don't expect anyone to dance but you. Yeah... I was in the mood to dance with everyone. Sort of wish I had. It's always more fun to dance with people you don't know because they will never say to you "God you're a bad dancer!" And chances are, if they've had a few drinks, the won't say "God you're a bad dancer!" because they won't know any better.
