To avoid future embarrassments in the UK...
1) "Pants" is "underwear". "Trousers" is "pants".
2) An elevator is a "lift".
3) No one knows what you mean if you say "restroom". Just be more specific and say "toilet".
4) "Chips" are "french fries". "Crisps" are "chips" (though all the bags have "chips" on the label).
5) Almost all bags of "chips" have MSG in them.
6) "Smart" is a word that can describe clothing.
7) "Football" is "soccer" (but you have to be pretty stupid not to know that with the World Cup going on).
8) "Spotted Dick" is not a disease.
9) A large is a "Pint" and beers come in sizes.
10) You have to stop at the red light. Period. There's no "you can turn on red if you're turning right and no one is coming rule" (or left in this case).
11) Roundabouts also come in "mini" sizes.
12) No one navigates using compas directions... they navigate by what town you are driving through.
13) A "boot" is the trunk of a car.

I had the strangest dream last night. Ok, so maybe most of them are pretty strange, but I dreamed I was back home (I'm in the UK currently) and I found a little gray female kitten wandering around (like Marilyn but with stripes). And this cat for some reason would "dance" and sort of "sing along" to Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls", sort of like how Marilyn will come running from the other side of the house when Metalica is being played... only this cat actaully sort of bopped along and swang it's little tail. Anyway, I was thinking about taking her in with Cicero and Oberon because she was so darn cute but it ended up she belonged to the guy down the street with 12 cats. So she had a blue collar on by the end of the dream. At least she had a home.
I hope Marilyn's ok.

I begin my interviews with teachers tomorrow. I'm nervous, excited, and at the same time dreading it. Oh well. We'll see how they go.
In compltely unrelated news, I got curious and started looking up when Robert Jordan's next book would be out. The guy has Amyloidosis (not sure if I spelled that right), so I'm betting not until he's better (if he gets better). Anyway, there's information on it at The Dragonmount.

I'm in Oxford again. I love this city. It's just got this flavor that I love. I've said it before, but it reminds me of home. Kara's so lucky to be coming here.
I think I might try walking home from the office. It's a 2.1 mile walk... I could do with some exercise after those chocolate profiteroles at the Trout last night (and all the cookies I ate today). Tammie advised me to stop at the wine shop and do the full tasting. I may save that for the weekend.
I haven't done my Oxford pub crawl yet. Oh well. Maybe later this week.

So tomorrow I leave for Oxford again. I just discovered that Wimbledon will be going on the second week that I'm there. Too bad I didn't realize that earlier or I might have arranged to stay an extra weekend to try to attend a game. Too bad I don't have the extra cash to purchase a ticket. Oh well. Can't have everything. At least I'm going over.
My Mom's here now. I love it when she comes down, not because she does the gardening (which she does) but because it's just good to have her. Everyone who meets her loves her too. I'm excited for her because she just retired and now has time to do whatever she wants (which currently is to come see me)!
Mike is out in South Dakota again. (Sorry Mike... I know it's not Oxford but with any luck you'll get to go to Japan).
Congratulations to my friend Kara. She just got offered a two year stint in Oxford at the company I'm going over for tomorrow. Great people. She'll love it.

So you'll never guess what craziness I've gotten myself into now. Apparently, I'm enough of a geek for the online Battlestar Galactica community to take notice of me (though in all fairness I did sort of start something on E! Online). I guess they've created an award show just for BSG that is totally virutal and I've been asked to be a presenter for one of the awards. This means, of course, that on June 30th at 8 pm CST I'll be in my hotel out at Gatwick Airport half asleep (thats 2 am GMT for those of you who don't know) presenting an award for "Best Line". Personally, I think "Bitch took my ride!" should win, but that's just because I said it at the same time Starbuck did.
Anyway here's where to go:

I'm in amsterdam right now. Sort of busy. So I will write more later. Also realized a bug in my site that I'll need to fix (meaning... new month, if I don't have anything entered then you get an error).
Note to self: Fix error.
