Well, today was my birthday. Not horribly eventful, as usual. Yesterday we went to Dave and Buster's to celebrate with some friends. That was fun except Dave and Buster's got rid of my FAVORITE game in the whole world (that Mech warrior or battle bots or whatever it's called where you get into a pod and you shoot people to bits). I felt incredibly robbed. We could have gone somewhere else instead. To make matters worse, a co-worker gave me three D&B cards to spend in there not knowing how much was on each (each one had close to the original $20 on there which would have kept me and several other people quite content in our pods for several hours) and I couldn't spend it on what I wanted to! Oh well.

In addition, I had the wonderful birthday gift of blowing out the tire on my car and having to get two new ones. Mom and dad: thank you for your gift of cash... three guesses as to where it went, you won't need two of them (unlike the tires, unfortunately). I don't understand why they made something where one of them breaks and you have to get two replacements. It's rediculous. But if they say that's what I'm supposed to do, who's to argue? I'm not a car expert by any means.

Speaking of Cars, I got my new license plate: "No Spoon". For those of you who don't know, I drive a Toyota Matrix. I thought about getting "Cylon 6" for my plate but as Mike pointed out, it's a "Matrix". "Blu Pill" was taken so I couldn't get that. Next year, I'll probably change it again... so any of you ohio people out there, please don't get "Cylon 6". I want that. "Toaster" was taken, unfortunately.

Happy New Year!

Admittedly, I'm a day late in saying this, but there it is.

New Year's Eve was, as most New Years Eve's are, uneventful. We went to dinner at The Melting Pot with John and Kara (fun, but normal). It was clear the staff was way in over their head (something I'd expect from a new restaurant, but not this one). At one point I caught the wait staff and the manager arguing over something in the middle of a corridor blocking my way from the bathroom back to my seat. The waiters didn't even notice me standing there until the manager finally pulled them to the side (nice, but it's not like he wasn't standing there too). I'm sorry... no matter how crazy it gets on December 31, don't let the patrons see you arguing and certainly don't block their walkways. The food was good, though.

After, we watched "the Ball" drop and Dick Clark looking 50 while having the voice of a 90 year old coming out of his mouth in half understood sentences. Apparently he was hosting, though you'd never know it by the amount of talking Ryan Secrest did (who, I predict, will eventually be one of those 90 year olds who look 50 as well). Then to sleep.

After three weeks off from work I'm not sure how I'll handle being back. I was way overdue for a break and a lot of it wasn't pleasant having just had a good chunk of my throat ripped out. I'm still healing so I'm not as comfortable as I'd like to be, but it's not bad. I'm just tired. Still tired. I want more sleep. Maybe to bed at an early hour or something.

So, New Year resolutions? Well, I know I had some last night but I can't remember what they are today so chances are I've already violated them. Oh well. I don't care so long as 2006 holds fewer visits to the doctor. Wait, I have one tomorrow... there goes that hope.

Chiao!
